I often paint my own self-portrait, a fascinating exercise. I know my own face better than any other, and yet each painting is different: they’re all me, each in their own way. I’m combining this idea with memories of drinking wine and painting friends while in art school in France in my mid-20s; we would often exchange the paintings of each other. As I look for ways to expand and push my practice, I thought I’d extend this idea to *you* and am offering The Selfie.

Do not confuse this option with the rest of my commissioned work: it is entirely different. This is as if we are sitting across from each other, and I’m painting you and capturing the feeling of the moment. If you’re looking for a painting that captures the subject more closely, I suggest my other custom options.

Here’s how The Selfie works:

1. Send me a photo of you or someone else. A selfie is fine or just the face, however that comes about.

2. I’ll make a watercolor painting on 9x12 paper. This painting may or may not look much like the photo you’ve sent.

3. I’ll mail the painting to you!
