NYC in the early spring: No. 5 Gramercy Park West, March 10
On warmer days this early springtime in New York City, I ventured out to paint townhouses and restaurants and the general hustle-bustle of the city. All of these paintings were made en plein air, meaning I painted them from life, sitting outside and looking at the scene as I worked. This townhouse has the most beautiful ironwork detailing around the door that I’ve admired for years, and I finally decided to sit and paint it.
