I've been venturing out on warmer days this early springtime to paint from life in the city, mostly around my own West Village neighborhood, but other spots, too. With a fractured foot--on crutches!--for most of the beginning of the year, I was very limited mobility-wise and tended to stay put once I found a spot to paint for that session. You may know that I already enjoy returning to the same motif again and again; limited mobility made me double down on that and was an exercise in patience and slowing down.
