Bonjour from France!! This summer I was an artist-in-residence with the Leo Marchutz School in Aix-en-Provence for six weeks, spending my days painting en plein air.

This watercolor is from an afternoon spent in Marseille, about 30 minutes from Aix-en-Provence. I stopped by this bustling cafe and painted the scene while waiting for a friend and later came back for a little glass of wine and a bite to eat, becoming one of the people in the piece I'd made earlier that day.
