Bonjour from France!! This summer I was an artist-in-residence with the Leo Marchutz School in Aix-en-Provence for six weeks, spending my days painting en plein air.

This watercolor is one of two painted while hiking le Chemin des Douaniers (Customs Path), a trail from the French Revolution used to smuggle contraband along the coast. It was a toasty July day and I made only two paintings while hiking... but jumped in the water every chance I could!
